ChondroFiller® Liquid – gentle, effective, and affordable cartilage repair.
ChondroFiller® Liquid is a cell-free, orthobiological collagen matrix specifically designed to support natural cartilage regeneration within joints. Treatment requires only a single, minimally invasive arthroscopic procedure. The product comes in a ready-to-use, dual-chamber syringe containing ultrapure type I collagen solution and a neutralizing solution, which mix automatically through an adapter during application.
Once injected into the defect site, the viscous collagen matrix transforms within 3–5 minutes into a stable hydrogel implant. This ensures precise filling of even hard-to-reach lesions, micro-tears, and cavities—without the need for fibrin glue or bone drilling (microfracturing).
Every ChondroFiller® device is manufactured in Germany under strict quality standards, ensuring reliability and safety for patients and surgeons alike.
Key Advantages of ChondroFiller® Liquid Treatment:
ChondroFiller® Liquid adapts flexibly in shape, thickness, and size. Within just 3–5 minutes of injection, it forms a stable implant matrix directly in the defect zone. This allows even hard-to-reach lesions, micro-tears, and small cavities to be treated effectively.
- Requires only a single arthroscopic procedure.
- Short surgical time reduces risks and recovery effort.
- Acellular material – no need for an additional biopsy.
- Adapts naturally to the shape and size of each cartilage defect.
- Eliminates the need for fibrin glue – hardens directly in the defect.
- Simple to handle and easy to apply during surgery.
- Delivered in a convenient, ready-to-use dual-chamber syringe.
- A cost-effective solution for cartilage regeneration.
Available in multiple volumes (1.0 ml, 1.5 ml, and 2.3 ml), ChondroFiller® Liquid is suitable for treating grade III and IV cartilage defects up to 3 cm².

Our Commitment: Quality and Safety Above All
ChondroFiller® Liquid is designed to treat advanced cartilage damage (grade III and IV) in a variety of joints—including the knee, hip, shoulder, ankle, and even the small joints of the hand.
Since its introduction in 2013, ChondroFiller® Liquid has been successfully used in more than 20,000 patients worldwide. This CE-certified medical device is the outcome of decades of dedicated research, developed in collaboration with leading scientists at the Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology (IGB), Stuttgart.
ChondroFiller® Liquid – applied as a liquid, transforming into a stable gel.
Depending on the location and size of the defect, ChondroFiller® Liquid can be implanted arthroscopically or through minimally open surgery.
During the arthroscopy, the surgeon identifies the position, severity, and extent of the cartilage damage. Any unstable or damaged cartilage tissue is carefully removed at the same time. The defect is then filled with the liquid implant, which solidifies within minutes as the components mix—forming a stable gel that completely covers the defect. (See Figures 1–4.)
